Soon you will start to see ads supporting Tom Harkin and Chuck Grassley for their votes for SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Program). The ads are paid for by America’s Agenda: Health Care for Kids. At least that’s what the ad says. Actually they are 100% funded by Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PHRMA), a group dedicated to lobbying Congress for more government run health insurance to help line their pockets with tax payer dollars.
PHRMA is running ads in numerous states for both U.S. House members and Senators. I find it odd that they bought ads for Harkin and Grassley - especially with Grassley not even up for reelection.
Is there a Steve King hit coming up? King was the only of the Iowa delegation who voted against SCHIP. Nebraska’s delegation on the other hand agreed with King.
PHRMA could purchase ads in the Omaha and KTIV market and hit King, Fortenberry, and Terry all with the same ad. Time will tell.
