This bailout is a futile infusion of money into an economy obviously not standing on its own. We can never trust government for a meaningful, fiscally responsible solution.

I realize something may need to be done but there has to be a private sector solution. In the world I live in, if you didn’t pay your bills you will go bankrupt and lose everything. It is called responsibility.

The last person I want my tax dollars to go to is the failed borrower, lender, CEO of the lender, or government agency with oversight of the entire mess. Let’s take the proposed $700 billion and give it back to the taxpayer in the form of a rebate. That would come to around $5,000 per individual tax payer - one heck of a stimulus package. Of course to do that we would have to cut $700 billion out of the federal budget. I don’t know where exactly to find that money but I would start with demolishing two of the most wasteful out of the 682 government agencies: the Department of Education ($68.6 billion) and the Environmental Protection Agency ($7.2 billion). Then I would go on down the list. Here they all are in alphabetical order:
